Some times I set to and type a long piece for publication and while going for the caps key I accidentally hit the CTRL key that wipes it out, I am sure I am not the only one to whom this happens, does anyone know how to recover the typing ?.

I wonder if you are holding the control key and typing the letter a.
CTRL A selects all the text. The next key press replaces the selected text. It might work if you press CTRL z for "undo". I'm going to post this before I check it.

I agree with CNTRL + Z undo, but
"CTRL key" could be set strange on its mask effect to wipe that out
"How so this occur of being its setting?
?"
