Title: Japanese car design anyone?
Post by: Don_1 on 12/11/2008 17:19:14
Anyone interested in car design might like to know there is an exhibition of Japanese car designs at the Science Museum, Sth Kensington, from the end of November to mid April.

Tomorrow & Friday I will be putting in some concept cars from Nissan and Daihatsu. I Think the Nissan is the Pivo 2. Seems like only a few months ago I put this car in &took it out again from the Science Museum for some other show! I know the Pivo is not new (about 2/3 years old) and has been shown before in Michigan and Frankfurt, but, judging by the way they wanted it kept under wraps last time before the unveiling, I think Nissan keep improving it. Odd looking thing!

Japan Car exhibition info can be found here;  http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmuseum/galleries/japan_car.aspx (http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmuseum/galleries/japan_car.aspx)

And before you ask, no, I’m not on commission!

Besides looking like an egg timer. It looks like it is suppose to go either direction by spinning the cab. [::)]

You're spot on there. the cab does revolve, so do the wheels! They spin through 90°, so it can travel forward and sideways. See this demo http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ia8JZe2vSq8&NR=1 (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ia8JZe2vSq8&NR=1)

Even a woman can park it in a narrow gap!!!

Pardon? What? Eh? I said nothing of the sort. Me??? Sexist???? Never!

Does the barrel belong to you or MakeItLady? You both seem to be scraping it.

Just a quick footnote to this in case anyone is interested in going to see the Nissan Pivo at this show.

The Pivo will be at the show for the first two weeks, after which it is going back to Japan for another show. It will be back at the Science Museum show at the end of January.

Just what I need, an "E" Type Shed. I wonder if he puts it in the garage?

Must have been an April Fool stunt, but I don't remember it.
