Me, and my cosnciousness

Hey everyone!
I'm new to this forum (although I've been listening to the Naked Scientists Show for more then a year). I'm a psychologist and a PhD student in Budapest, Hungary.
I have been working on a thought experiment lately. This is about selfconsciousness and individuality. (Your soul, if you like.)
I talked through this thought experiment with all my Friends now, and I'd like to grasp others opinion in the area too.
So basically I'd like to invite the people of this forum to this experiment.

The thought experiment is for people with scientific view of the world, body and mind.
This experiment consists of a series of questions and situations that all lead to a deeper level of thinking about the individuality and our selfconsciousness, and that how we explain it's phenomenons by scientific means.
For you to be qualified to take the experiment you should have some kind of idea or thought about your selfconsciousness. It doesn't have to be a solid, scientific, evidence based idea, but if you have such, it's even better.
Above that, you should ask yourself the folowing question:
- Do you believe in the existence of a "soul", a "spirit", or any other thing that is in any degree independent from the physical world, and what is in any degree responsible for our behaviour and conscious experiences?
If your answer to that is NO (or something like that, like "we don't need that assumption to explain anything in the human nature and behaviour"), then you are qualified.
This is important because if you believe in a metaphysical thing like a soul you will have an easy "escape" from the otherwise thought provoking questions of the experiment.
At the moment I couldn't find a way to conduct this experiment other than in a one-on-one conversation. So if you are interested, you should send your Skype, Messenger (MSN) or Ventrillo name to my email address, or this topic and we will agree via e-mail in a time when the experiment will take place. We will communicate by text.
The experiment itself takes around a quarter or half an hour in my experience.
In this forum topic we can discuss our experiences after you allready took place in the experiment or any other related thought.
