Title: Could a one-atom-wide blade be made?

Theoretically if it were possible to create a blade that was 1 atom thick would it cut through any material??

It wouldn't cut through any thing made of atoms or molecules bigger than its own.

The strength of the attractive force between atoms is different for different materials.

You can hammer gold down to the thickness of only a few atoms. It is very weak!
