Title: How are MRI scans interpreted?
Post by: Pamela on 01/03/2011 00:30:04
Pamela  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hello, I wonder if you could help me, please.

Re: MRI brain scans

When scans are taken by different radiologists at different hospitals will they be able to be interpreted in the same manner.  Or, only interpreted from the same angle if both had been taken in same manner.

My husband had an MRI scan four years ago and one last year.  They have been compared and my interest is if a true interpretation could be expected irrespective of angle they were taken at.

I would be very grateful for some input by one of the Scientists on your team.
