Title: Why has the forum been overtaken with chat?

Gawd knows I don't mind the STB, but there are limits, surely? Please can some of our colleagues keep all those chat comments in a separate thread somewhere? My "recent posts" page is full of too much  [O8)].

Hey Pox

I kind of wish I'd never started....

There was just a period today when a few guys seemed to be going hell-for-leather all over the place with literally hundreds of one word posts, and not just in the "Chat" forum (for an example, go and have a look at their recent posts from their profile page). All I intended was to try and restore some order and meaning to what was going on - time and place and all that.

Please don't withdraw your own special lunacy!

And it was much appreciated.  I'd sent a couple of people a message about it, and deleted or shrunk some of the posts, but it had gotten out of hand.

Yeah sure help yourself, he is especially grumpy tonight, moaning on the phone about how achey his belly feels after eating chinese and JD last night,finishing the leftover chinease for breakfast... plus bacon sandwiches...all while over at his mates.
Yeah.... like ive got any sympathy for him!! lol

Our resident GOMs ( grumpy old men)  have been quiet of late. Where is Dr B and Jambib?? Maybe the anti-fog protection posted did really scare them...  [:D]

They are still about. Beaver is moving into a new flat so is busy and Jambib has no excuse for not posting. If we provoke him enough I'm sure he will be back.

I suspect he is lurking on the geology forum..... the non-life sciences section isnt one I frequent....its full of people saying long words that I dont understand!! [;)]
