Title: How can I carbonate 10,000 gallons of water?
Post by: Chris Colas on 14/11/2010 14:30:03
Chris Colas asked the Naked Scientists:

How can I carbonate 10,000 gallons of water?  And how long would it retain the fizz if left out in the open?

Thanks,

Chris Colas

If in a pressure vessel, the introduction of gaseous CO2 under pressure, as from a pressurized cylinder, combined with agitation, would probably do the job. I do not know how long the fizz would remain in force if then released to atmospheric pressure. Most carbonated aqueous products are stored under pressure.
