GOD IS NOT PUSHING **** AROUND ALL DAY LONG! An apple doesn’t fall from a tree because God wanted it to!
Even if you are a Christian I'm sure the majority don't believe in a literal personification of God going around moving stuff! If you do, why oh why would you think that other any other rational explanation?!?
I cry inside every time I read about crazed evangelical religious fundamentalists trying to make everyone in American schools learn a load of BS to make "informed" decisions. Because you can't completely explain something away doesn't mean it has to be God FFS! I hope they all get paper cuts when they next open a bible! They have a subject for all this malarkey it’s called R.E. religious education… and it is imposed on many unwilling students by law in the UK! You have to have at least 1 hour of religious education every week when doing GCSE’s it’s even more before that! Then later on you have to do General Studies which is full of the same crap [
]. I am interested in religion and other people’s beliefs anyway I do however resent it being forcibly taught in schools. Primary School is the worst where an hours worth of Christian based assembly is forced into you every morning! My teacher when I was 11 belonged to some crazy Christian cult and lived with them in a commune. Sufficed to say that was one of the most tedious years of my life. Everything we did had a Christian spin, me along with the other Agnostic/Atheist Hindu and Muslim kids were fairly well isolated, with such great activities as "put your hands up if you were christened, win a prize" or "lets watch Jesus of Nazareth on tape for the 500th time!". A school is no place for religion unless it is multi cultural and based on educating racial, moral and spiritual understanding towards others!

Ultima some of what you have just said was not true because R.S (religeos studies or R.E) teaches not only about a lot of different 'religeons' and beliefs but it teaches you how to argue etc.
I personally don't think that God moves an apple when it falls off the tree, it is gravity.

Im a God believer but i think that apple thing is taking it WAY! too far, im sure he has better things to do than make an APPLE drop to the ground.
I mean, he's got people of the past to judge.
He's not gonna answer all your prayers, that's why he gave man the responsibility to make his own decisions, otherwise it would be like having a child that would never grow up, that would always rely on you to get what he/she wants.
Times that by 6 BILLION, and you got a headache not even "The Man" himself could not handle.

To put that into perspective:
Imagine you're on a stage, and you got a huge audience that spreads out as far as you could see.
But you wer'nt performing a concert, you're having request thrown at you from all directions, you can barely make out what the closest person to you is saying, and this went on 24/7 from ALL AROUND THE WORLD!
Unimaginable! Simple Unimaginable!

Yes but Razor you cannot begin to comprehend the simply awesome power that as you say "The Man" or God has. He can do anything and is not man and does not have the the limits that we have just using our 5 senses or w/e

simeonie R.E. must have been very different in your school. In mine we spent about 10% of the time investigating other faiths and debating stuff. 90% was taken up doing great tasks like "draw a picture of God (The one true God)". I handed in a blank piece of paper for that homework, mainly because I forgot to do it. Since the teacher wanted to accept my belief she couldn't have a go at me [
]. Later on they used R.E. as an excuse for giving sex education etc. tbh the attempt at sexual education was pathetic too and done far to late. I didn't appreciate being forced to watch some guy fondle his bits for ten minutes on screen with my class mates; I already knew about testicular cancer and how to spot it...
So you truly believe God literally has his “hand” in everything? Why is that a preferable ideology over Gravity? How does it explain things anymore suitably, and why would you reach that conclusion over any other?

The "intelligent design" concept seems a bit unpopular here. I must say that I am glad to see that. If evolution is a "theory", well, it is backed up by mountains of fossil records and DNA analysis. Intelligent design to me does not even seem to be a theory- it's more of a philosophical position or a religious viewpoint. The only way I would be agreable to the teaching of such unscientific science in public schools would be for every Baptist Sunday School teacher in the USA to take a pledge to teach evolution alongside creationism in their classroom. And you know there is no way that is going to happen.
In human affairs there is a value to civility and evenhandedness. Intelligent design poses as being "fair"- but in fact it would be unfair for public funds to be used in the support of religious belief. In addition, it's just not good science.
