I read a review that actually said the show was doomed because it required people to pay attention and think. I sincerely hope that it isn't true and there is room for a popular science show amongst all the reality shows (rednecks, people famous for nothing, teen moms, and little people) competition/elimination shows (eg Top Chef, American Idol) and home/bar/restaurant renovation shows. I can't believe how many of those things there are!
Plus I love Neil deGrasse Tyson's voice. I could listen to him all day.
I didn't watch the original series, so I don't know how they compare. I'm not sure why. I think it started in 1980 and I was living in a dorm room without a tv. If you did, do you like it as well?
