Title: How does Nitrogen Fixation occur?
Post by: RubyRed on 15/08/2008 02:41:46
Can anyone explain to me a bit about Nitrogen fixation - I know that the Nitrogen is taken from the air and converted to soluble Nitrogen to be used by plants but I am having some difficulty understanding how this happens. (Enzymes and microorganisms?) [???]

I suggest reading the Wikipedia article on Nitrogen Fixation to begin. They have a pretty good explanation of the process.
