You need a nice sheering Sheepy!
-
Neil,
I have a surprise for you!!!!!
I ordered this outfit for you. You can pose for a new picture and change from the shameless "just garter belt" picture to one with a little more - not much, but a little bit - propriety. At least all of you will be covered. Full frontal nudity is not acceptable on a family site.

Rosalind is obviously speechless too!

I can see that we tolerate full frontal nudity better in the UK than in the US. Why, a picture of a transvestite with only in a garter belt, stockings and high heels would be censored in the US.
-
Rosalind is obviously speechless too!
No Sharon I couldn't stop laughing so it was nicer than using words to be happy. I chose that picture and this one too,

what is that squiggly thing in front of the "1" ? Can't they write a £ sign?
No they can not !.....the '£' sign is a tricky thing to accomplish in the county of Brecknockshire !
-
what is that squiggly thing in front of the "1" ? Can't they write a £ sign?
They're Welsh.
-
It looks like impressionist art. It is not a £ but a face. The Welsh are so cultured you see.
-
No on a second viewing it is a bring your own wellies sign!
-

Anything to goad someone, the Toad-licking beaver will do.
He doesn't appreciate their other accomplishments. Such as resisting the ruling Normans until the 1500's - a fact I am quite proud of even though The family is originally French. Having been unmarried before joining William the Conquerer, my ancestor taught the welsh how to really fight the French armies. Good chap, that one.

Actually, I'm so desperate for cash that , that squiggle represents my shorthand for " Or Nearest Offer "

French armies don't "fight"

Tell that to Charlimaine or Julius Ceaser or the countries Napoleon ran over, etc, etc,
-
Tell that to Charlimaine or Julius Ceaser or the countries Napoleon ran over, etc, etc,
I think you mean Charlemagne. The so-called King who was only in power because the Catholic church liked him. Not many Frenchies in his army. Most of them were mercenaries paid for by the church.
Anyway, how can you take a man seriously when he had a father named Pippin? Sounds like a goddam Hobbit!
Tell Julius Caesar? In case you hadn't noticed, he's dead. Not easy to tell him anything, is it. Or are you that much out of touch that you hadn't realised? In any case, Asterix the Gaul wasn't a real person.
The countries Napoleon "ran over"? Belgium? Oooh yes, they had a really massive army - 5 men with pitchforks and 2 mules. Holland? All 20 of their soldiers were stoned. Poland? Too busy growing beetroot & getting drunk with their Lithuanian cousins. Bits of Spain? Spain was a jumbled mess that could offer no cohesive resistance. Italy? They went to war with white feathers in their hats. What does that say about them! Austria-Hungary? They waltzed into battle eating goulash.
Prussia? Oh no, he didn't manage that, did he. Nor Russia.
Napoleon won battles mainly on manpower & because of the arrogance & stupidity of the opposition. He wasn't a great general. And he had to stand on a stepladder to see over the captains.
Not a bad statesman, though (as far as dictators go).

"Napoleon won battles mainly on manpower & because of the arrogance & stupidity of the opposition. He wasn't a great general."
Really? Why is the doctrine of tactical superiority in manpower and technology still in use today, or the importance of field artillery or the very strange idea he introduced of advancing on multiple lines of march rather than on a single line of march all still dominating military thought? The little Corsican was considered so dangerous he was exiled to St. Helena. I guess it was because his farts were so potent - it had nothing to do with his ability to command, if we believe your version of history.
The previous post to this thread by Doctor Beaver is sponsored by and is brought to you through the auspices of the people who published the classic book, "How To Lie With Statistics." (It is a real book, too, as is the second book - additional techniques (or something such) )
This above excerpt from their new history series, entitle "History As I Would Like It To Be," is their latest smash hit. A compendium of thoughts by various unknowns, it compliments well such notable previous best selling books such as "How We Liberated Tibet" by The Government of the People's Republic of China, "I Am Not A Dictator" by Robert Mugabe, "The Myth That A Palestinian State Ever Existrd" by Benjamin Netanyahu and "Weapons of Mass Destruction We Found In Iraq" by George W. Bush.
They also have a small tome "I AM NOT A Human" by a chap whose pseudonym is "Dr. Beaver." Rather strange book, that one.
"Asterix the Gaul" - aren't you thinking of Versingeterix, who actually did exist???
-

Nothing to do with his generals, of course. They were inconsequential nincompoops who did nothing but pose on horseback.
I think you've read history from a French book.
I said Asterix and I meant Asterix.
-
Phif - Comic books! How Childish of you - but them, one cannot expect much from a Beaver.
And your skirting the issue again, Beaver (short attention span? - http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=14367.msg174846#msg174846 ) We are talking about the generals under his command. Marshal Ney was reliable but not as good as Napoleon. Had Napoleon not been as ill as he was at Waterloo, Wellington would have been crushed.
And Napoleon's ratings , well just look at this: http://www.napoleonguide.com/marshrate.htm
Marshal Davout was as good as Napoleon (see link just below 1st sentence on page.) http://www.napoleonguide.com/soldind.htm
The ONLY allied general to meet these TWO French Generals was Wellington: http://www.napoleonguide.com/genrate_allies.htm
So at Waterloo, outnumbered as he was, Wellington could only win because of Napoleon's illness.
Your assertions are groundless according to my history books, my books on warfare and strategy, etc. etc. My nephew, a naval officer, has studied Napoleon's battles to learn strategy! I doubt that Napoleon would be included in his education if he were not exemplary and way above the norm for any general or strategist. Over all of recorded history, Alexander the Great was probably the most cunning strategist but Napoleon is up there at the top with the best. You just can't accept it because your are a Francophile bigot!
I THINK YOU ARE INVENTING HISTORY TO SUIT YOUR ARGUMENT! Back it up with facts and references - that is, if you can pay attention that long.

Have I wondered onto a History Forum by accident???? and did Napoleon have a car as he ran over countries.
-
No, you have run into a truculent Beaver. Le Castor cannot allow we humans to be correct in any way. It is a sign of his deep insecurity - as a psychologist (supposedly) he should realize that by now but ... well, the sickest always end up ins psychology.
-
I doubt that Napoleon would be included in his education if he were not exemplary and way above the norm for any general or strategist.
Have you never been shown examples of how not to do things?
-

Sharon no I was in a silly mood (again), also cars weren't around when Napoleon was. I am sure that there is a History forum out there somewhere.
But it is not our TNS !!!!!!!!!
