Hey guys, I watched a movie on good old youtube the other day. And i was told if i got shot anywhere..some force would pull me towards the bullet..when i had been shot. Is this true!? I always thought i traveled with the bullet for a certain while..but ive never seen it happen, just in the movies!!
Thanks

Hmmmmm...not too sure about this and can't imagine the scenario....less you're shot in the tummy and you kind of lunge forward as you fold forward ..if you know what I mean !!
I think your initial instincts are still correct about being propelled back with the force of the impact !

Bullets, contrary to common thought, actually carry very little force - they don't generally give you much of a kick, either forward or backward (a gun is a force projector - it projects a force from the hand of the person shooting the gun to the person being shot; so if the force hitting the person being shot is too great, then the hand holding the gun could not cope with the recoil from the gun). The reason why bullets kill is because even that relatively small force is encapsulated in a very small package, and so it is highly concentrated force, but the overall force remains small.
As Neil has indicated, what is very possible is that as a bullet enters the body, it could (whether through pain, or through disruption of tissue) cause a collapse of muscle where the bullet enters the body, or it can cause a spasm (this is particularly the case where you may have a bullet through the spine), and this may in some cases may cause the body to jump towards the bullet (although there is no predictable outcome).

Speaking from experience, I don't recall lunging toward the bullet, however it was a long time ago so my memory may be fuzzy. What I remember is feeling like someone hit me hard in the back and I was momentarily stunned and had the breath knocked out of me. I stood up for a few seconds and then fell down on my knees and then collapsed, but I definitely don't recall lunging toward it.

Thanks!

Where did the bullet enter Caroline?
I wonder if there is a difference as to where you are hit or the range from which you are hit at or from?

I also believe it depends on the type of gun also.. I would thing a shot gun might cause a different reaction then a small hand gun.. ??

With a shotgun theres different possibilities depending on the bullet, a slug (multiple metal balbearons inside the shell) will be fired and will rip flesh apart..with no idea where it will hit. More powerful guns will blow a hole in your head..or take your head off..but i was just wondering if the force from any kind of SINGLE bullet would make me go towards it..or if the force of the bullet pushed me back.

In video games, they always fall back.

Do you really believe it?

Maybe, the physics engines have really evolved...I still don't know.
