Title: What Infuence does MSN have on these applications then ?
Post by: neilep on 12/01/2008 17:16:22
Dear all,

I want to delete the MSN thingy in my bottom right hand corner tool-bar. I do not use MSN and am always signed out as default.....so...I go to exit it and it gives me this warning:

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

So, what influence does MSN have on the programs mentioned in the warning above ?

I don't know but I have had that same message and deleted it anyway then had trouble using my other programs, because it is a shared file. Other programs can use certain components of that main file to run the other software and I have found that very true of lots of Microsoft applications. I don't know how to get around it without damaging other programs.

Aren't they all Microsoft products?

Neil,
click start then run, in the search looking thingy type msconfig. Then look for the tab marked start up programmes (or words to that effect), look down the list of programmes for one called msn messenger, uncheck the box close and restart your pc.

this will stop msn loading at startup, or just uninstall the annoying thing.

With MSN and other MS products don't just delete them!

Go to the control panel and use add/remove windows components and un-install them.

THANK YOU ALL for your advices..I WILL do that.

For your information...all I was doing was right clicking on it and using the EXIT option......it still gave me the warning. All of your help is gratefully received.

THANK YOU

I find that a big hammer is most effective at removing Microsoft annoyanceware. [;D]

Neil, go into your PC's "control panel" then use the "Add or Remove Programs"
then click on your msn and remove that progam.

Or Right-click your computer mouse then click on the Delete command of your
MSN icon on your Taskbar.

I would delete MSN if you don't use it.

MSN doesn't come as standard, so somebody must have downloaded it.

Don't get confused between Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger.
