Title: Are there any benefits of sleep deprivation?
Post by: Christopher on 22/03/2009 13:30:02
Christopher asked the Naked Scientists:

Can there be any benefit of me going 2 straight days without sleep. If I was
doing research for a paper due for example.  If I at the 2nd night went to sleep at normal hour and woke the next day without issues to carry on with the week without a hitch, well could I have increased my brain and or bodies overall capacity in some way.

Excellent show (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/). I listen to several podcasts (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) each week.  Have learned plenty thanks to all who have been a part of the programme (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/).
What do you think?

No.

But I suggest you try the experiment... and let me know after what day did the 'head voices' start (mine was day four)

You forget them completely and even if you remember you can't tell weather they were real or not...
