Me About To Pounce On A Blokes Head

Nice eh ?

Normally, before I pounce I usually do a sheepy Tarzan cry !...but this time, I'm in a cloud !..will this have an effect on how my cry gets transmitted to the blokes ears ?..will the sound arrive sooner ?..and therefore, I'll need to adjust my pouncetimeability ?...will it be slightled garbled because of all the vapour and cloudy stuff ?..or will there be no difference at all ?

Can ewe...erhmm..hurry up cos he's almost gorn !!

Hugs et les shmisheys !

mwah mwah mwah !!

Damp air absorbs sound more than dry air and I think the droplets are even worse. I think  that's why thngs usually sounds quieter in fog.
Then there is the issue of refraction; the speed of sound will  be affected by density and by temperature and speed change can produce refraction. If there is a gradient of humidity or temperature from ground level upwards, this can produce a bending of sound upwards or down towards the ground, which could increase or decrease the sound level, depending on which way it goes.
I think a layer of cold air on top of some warmer air should bend the sound up.  Humid air under drier air (at the same temperature) should bend it down.
You takes yer pick!

THANK EWE Sophiecentaur !

Gosh..with all these variables  I will need to strategise (new word ?) new contingency plans to maintain a high success rate  !

Neilp: Is that a sheepy garter belt ewe're wearing while waiting to pounce?  Also, why are you hanging upside down?  Are sheep related to bats?  ...or sloths?

This is like that scary fog scene from that scary film The Others. Although I don't recall any sheep in it.

Doh! - of course - it's obvious now ewe mention it.

...but what about the garters and stockings though?  Or is that just another aspect of 'Bat style' that I was hitherto unaware of?
