Hmm id like to see what you all think of this - http://worldjumpday.org/ (http://worldjumpday.org/)
I personally think that it won't work since the conservation of momentum means that all the downwards movement of the earth created by the jump will be opposed by the gravitational pull of all the jumping people. At least i think.
Also syncronising 600 million jumps all at once seems impossible.

Yeh. I will be jumping too. I hope it doesn't have some bad effects though. Is this possible? Could it have a detrimental effect on the climate and enviroment??

All I can think is so what!
What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

Well, if 6,000,000,000 all start jumping, one would expect an increase in the amount of dust generated (and commensurate increase in the erosion of the surface they are jumping on), as well as a slight increase in the amount of CO2 these people are exhaling, and an increase in the amount of heat they produce through their exertions. Beyond that, I cannot see it will any effect.
