Title: Is ionic precipitation exothermic or endothermic?
Post by: kaypep on 18/10/2008 14:05:43
Some short questions...

Is ionic precipitation an exothermic or endothermic reaction? I know it's specifically either, exothermic i guess cos bonds are formed not broken.

What is obtained from the complete decomposition of Silver carbonate? Please show the equation! thanks.

Why is sodium oxide formed instead of hydroxide when sodium reacts with steam? Is it because of the energy that steam has which causes the reaction to be more vigorous, thus hydrogen atoms do not remain with sodium oxide?

How do catalysts work? (More detailed, I know they lower the activation energy, but how?)

How do you test for the presence of N2 gas?

Thanks :]
