Title: Has Anyone Tried Apoleia360?
Post by: Morgan90 on 30/12/2010 02:52:07
I asked a while back for anyone with experiences with diet pills, but got no responses. I was wondering if anyone has tried Apoleia360 to achieve weigh loss. Thanks in advance for responses.

Hi Morgan,

Your previous post was deleted since it was flagged as diet pill spam.  We get a lot of diet pill advertisements on here, so accept our apologies if it wasn't spam.

Anyway, since this is a science forum, I think that the scientific consensus on herbal supplements for weight loss is pretty clear:
almost all of the herbal supplements out there don't work.  If they did actually work, they'd be powerful medicines capable of significantly altering your metabolism, which would mean they'd pretty quickly be regulated by the government, due to side effects and drug interactions.  For example, ephedrine with caffeine has been shown to work, but it was also linked to deaths in users, so it is now banned in both the US and EU.

If your weight is a significant enough problem that drugs are needed, it's best to consult a doctor rather than taking expensive supplements which are probably useless (and possibly dangerous).

I'd second the opinion...  if you have serious issues, consult a physician.

It might not hurt try the diet regimen.  But, first you might want to look up the individual ingredients in the medication/supplement.

Keep in mind... just because it is derived from plants doesn't mean there aren't "active ingredients" in the medication/supplement.

I wasn't surprised to see that Caffeine is actually part of this supplement (as mentioned above, amphetamines were used in the past as diet medications).  Smoking and Nicotine are also effective with dieting (not that I would recommend it).

Since it contains a mild (addictive) stimulant, it is possible that it would have a mild positive effect.

One of the diet medications that came out a few years ago was only effective if you stopped eating 3 hrs before bed.

(see related topic).

Anyway, for that med, I had always thought the effective part was stopping eating early in the evening, and not the medication itself.

It's like the advertisements that say "this pill, in combination with diet and exercise, can help you lose weight!"

I'm new to this forum and the only reason for creating my account is to give a review for this product. I'm really disappointed that so many people post their opinions without trying or even looking at the ingredients of this product. Out of the 3 responses above I think I'm the only one who actually used this product.

I’m about 30 pounds overweight. Last year, in August (about five months ago) I decided to change my diet and start to exercise. I started eating healthier, and exercise about 3 times a week for about an hour. My first 3 months of this so-called transformation made me lose about 3-5 pounds on average every month. Just like many people, after those 3 months, I encountered a breakdown. I was tired of being constantly hungry and receiving little reword for it. Thus, my adventure with weight loss supplement begun. I went to Wal-Mart and bought alli. It turned out to be one of those supplements that you have to throw away after just one week. It made my stomach hurt so bad that I just couldn't use it. I started to look online, and decided to buy these pills. I could really feel the difference. Just like Clifford mentioned in the above post “I wasn't surprised to see that Caffeine is actually part of this supplement” indeed, the energy you get form taking those pills is awesome. I went form losing 3-5 pounds to 9-12 pounds. It also might be just placebo effect, but I feel like I'm not that hungry all the time. Coming from my experience, I would definitely recommend this product.

Welcome Jessica,

And I'm glad to hear that the diet medication has been effective for you.  (as well as having a healthy combined approach of diet and exercise).

You are right, I haven't tried the medication myself.   [::)]

Nor have I truly tried any "diet medication".

I have allowed my weight to vary a little (+30 to 40 lbs over High School wt).   [xx(]  I have found a few things that have been very effective for myself without resorting to diet meds...  Although, truthfully, I don't know how "healthy" an unbalanced diet is, but that is part of the key to some things like the Atkin's Diet.

And, yes, I have discovered that Coffee (with sugar) can be an effective diet aid.

One of the more bizarre things I've stumbled across is blackberries.  I can loose a lot of weight...  rather quickly on a diet rich in essentially all I can eat blackberries (again with a little sugar, typically gently warmed in the microwave).

But, if the med works for you & your lifestyle...
That is good to hear.

BASED on MY personal experiences- VERY IMPORTANT:
i took this and lost 15 lbs after Having a baby...i first used as directed and it made me very shaky and sick feeling- but the key to that is to only take 1 dose or even half of that dose - 15 mins before breakfast and DRINK LOTS OF WATER and dont forget to EAT if you dont it will make you fell like vomiting...it will give you plenty of energy to EXERCISE and clean...best if taken before vigorous activity - if you take it and then sit on the couch - you will feel sick - its not a miracle pill but if you take care of yourself and decrease dose and stay active it does wonders - and dont forget to drink A LOT of water!!
