Happy Thanksgiving Day and here is a poem from a British Poet, Benjamin Zephaniah about Turkeys. It's funny.

"Talking Turkeys"
Benjamin Zephaniah

Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas
Cos' turkeys just wanna hav fun
Turkeys are cool, turkeys are wicked
An every turkey has a Mum.
Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas,
Don't eat it, keep it alive,
It could be yu mate, an not on your plate
Say, Yo! Turkey I'm on your side.
I got lots of friends who are turkeys
An all of dem fear christmas time,
Dey wanna enjoy it, dey say humans destroyed it
An humans are out of dere mind,
Yeah, I got lots of friends who are turkeys
Dey all hav a right to a life,
Not to be caged up an genetically made up
By any farmer...

That is a southern dish and I am a northern girl..! LOL

I have never eaten grits in my life! I assume they are similar to a hot cereal like cream of wheat or wheat hearts.. etc..

Corn or hominy ground up I am guessing..

Have y'all noticed that on Thanksgiving traffic, although heavy, is slow and  sedate?
I call it the tryptophan effect.
Normally that level of traffic has commuters bunched up and angry, rather like Jim Bob.
But after that Thanksgiving meal, and all hopped up on turkey tranqs, traffic was even pleasant.

Happy thanksgiving y'all.

And thank (burp) you for starting the thread, Neil.

... angry, rather like Jim Bob.

Allen, how ever did you get that impression? Why, I am a cuddly little teddy bear!
