Is gravity both positive and negative?
We look at the universe and see that it is expanding. The galaxies are moving apart. We look at the sun and the earth and find that there is some kind of force that is pushing them together. This is counteracted by the orbital energy which keeps the earth from being eaten up. Pure Newtonian equations apply. So we have a gravitational force which pushes galaxies apart and at the same time pushes local things together.
The Sun does not attract the Earth. There is no spring or rope from the sun to the Earth. The Earth and sun are pushed together by gravity. Yet the pushing force of gravity at the same time pushes the galaxies apart. It is all one force. Gravity is both positive and negative simultaneously.

If you look at the electromagnetic force, when this force lowers potential, it gives off energy. This energy, in turn, can be used to increase the EM force elsewhere. The former will appear like an attractive force, while the latter will appear like a repulsive force, with energy the bridge, between the two.
If gravity was a force, that behaves like the other three forces of nature, one might expect some type of repulsive affect from the exothermic output from gravitational attraction. One possible affect are rotations; spiral galaxies. The rotation creates an anti-gravity affect called the centrifugal force, whose vector is away from the center of gravity. It is possible dark energy may be gravitational output. Neither dark energy or gravitational output have been seen in the lab, but both can be inferred from the same types of affect.
Rotations and the curvature of space-time suggest some form or parallel; input/output.
Another interesting related observation is, in our universe, positive charge tends to be found mostly on the proton while negative charge is mostly found on the electron. Anti-matter, where the opposite happens is possible, but not as common. If this was chemistry the dominant products in any reaction tend to be more stable. In physics this is considered coincidental. I tend to believe the universe ended this way because this is more stable and not coincidence; play dice with the universe.
Since the proton contains the lions share of the universal mass, positive charge may well be hooked up into the gravitational economy of the universe. The electron has less mass and more space, so it is more or less pulled along due to an attraction to the proton; plus and minus. The proton is a bridge between charge and mass. While the election makes it harder to close the deal.

You can look at gravity from a heat analysis. The protons are very hot and radiate dark energy. Thus the protons after big bang had much more mass than today. About 25 times the amount since we have only 4 percent material energy as compared with dark mass/dark energy. thus it radiated quite a lot of energy which expanded the universe and at the same time caused a back-pressure upon the material world.
