Hi,
Does anyone know where i can find Ammonium vanadate (NH4VO3)? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Please, any information would be great...

???? It gives 870+ results in my version of Google.... loads of suppliers, but you do want to be careful with it, I see. Highly toxic, and teratogenic (f*cks up your genetic material).
Anything really specific you wish to know? It's probably one of those goodies that triggers all kinds of post-911 switches in loads of systems btw.

Well, its for a project i'm doing. I'm trying to make drug testing kits, specifically ecstacy testing, more freely available in my area. Kits are being sold at various places but for quite high prices so i want to make it easier to access this sort of thing.
I was looking into ammonium vanadate because it is used in the mandelin testing reagent, which is more comprehensive. There is also the marquis reagent which uses formaldehyde and sufuric acid but does not show as many compounds and is less functional.
I've not heard that NH4VO3 is restricted but it wouldnt suprise me... I'm not a qualified chemist, so for saftey reasons should i try to avoid the NH4VO3 route if i can?

Judging from what I read about it, you should be purdy careful with that stuff.
I can see btw why you're interested in finding something in between the Marquis and gas-chromatography... even the basic setup will set you back a hefty 20,000 bucks...
Only thing I could advise you is that IF you choose to go ahead it, get some professional chemist to supervise your handling of it, so you don't get to regret it at some later date. MDMA can f*ck you up, this stuff can do that to your offspring...
In Holland they have sites that will pinpoint a free professional testing-lab for you, even. In my case I'll stick to the occasional puff of the old doobie. [:)]
