Title: Is the enigma of the permuda Triangle solved?
Post by: myriam on 20/05/2010 14:31:47
The triangle of 'Satan', the Bermuda triangle is an enigma on the earth, lot of theories havebeen formulated as attempts to find an explanation  for the sudden disappearance of , planes, ships... in this triangle.
I wonder is there any strong  explanation  for it now ?

I've heard repeatedly from documentaries and the like that the statistics of number of boats sinking and planes crashing is what you would expect anywhere in the world.  It's just that it's a very busy area for traffic, so you get a larger number of boats sinking than in most other regions.  You also, of course, get many more passing through unscathed.

Instead of asking if there's an explanation for the mystery of the Bermuda triangle, perhaps we should be asking if there's scientific evidence that a mystery actually exists in the first place.

I am tempted to put forward one of the common explanations such as it being the site of the lost civilisation of Atlantis much visited by aliens from other worlds but sadly for the myth makers the explanation put forward by JP is much nearer the truth.

The Bermuda Triangle is largely the result of fiction and has never actually existed.  Furthermore, many of the cases cited as being within the so-called triangle have, upon serious investigation, turned out to be nowhere near it.

A large number of vessels have sunk in the region, but no more than one would expect from the particular conditions that prevail there.

Yup, the factual records show that there is nothing particularly special about this region with regard to the number of ships or aircraft lost there.  However, this is not to say that the region doesn't have its own specific characteristics, one of which in particular is that the weather can change very quickly and as a result more people may be caught out than in other regions.  This happens in a number of other places around the world too though.
