(Not looking for a dx, just looking for dx ideas to bring to my dr) Since about march or April, I've had bilateral swelling in my hands and feet, mild/mod but obvious if you look at before and after photos, starting to cause an aching pain, sometimes causing nerve sx's. I think it's also around my neck/trunk, my jeans started to fit and I had just actually lost weight before this. It is worse when I sit or lay down, possibly even worse when I've slept over night or just a nap. -- what we've ruled out; - medication, - liver, - kidney, - dvt/legs, EKG is normal, CBC normal, thyroid normal. The presentation doesn't seem to for anything I can find anywhere. --- things I already have: unspecified dysautonomia, mild chiari 1, migraine, hx of anemia, Raynauds, no med changes that match up with sx's onset. ---- have repeat autonomic testing scheduled, not until after the event I wanted to not have pain and swelling for of course....... --- if anyone has had similar s a, or knows of something that matches or could match or should be rulled out, or if you know of a specialist who likes puzzles and may have experience, anything would be so very very greatly appreciated!

Rather than swollen hands could it be the skin has tightened ? ...

I take it that the "zebra hunting" bit means you're in Africa.

RD no, they sometimes use "zebra" in reference to rare medical problems, "when you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras" :)

It's difficult to tell from the arty black&white photo , but the search term "periungual erythema" may be relevant.
