Post by: thedoc on 05/06/2015 01:50:03
Steven cardoza asked the Naked Scientists:

Can PCE and TCE cause male sperm to swim backwards?

I was exposed to contaminated water, could this have caused my sperm to swim backwards? I was tested after leaving camp lejune N.C, and no one has a answer. I asked an onocologist this question they replied yes it could, can you provide me with more information.

What do you think?

Let's review the physiology of ejaculation. You may wish to review the relevant scene from Woody Allen's "Everything you wanted to know about sex".

Long story short: Once launched ("Geronimo ! "), they aren't swimming back to the seminal vesicles.

Healthy sperm deposited on cotton panties have been known to find their way up the fallopian tubes to fertilize an ovum. That's one reason people say 90% of people are caused by accidents.

Yer doc can check your sperm's motility. If they're swimming in one direction, Hoss, you can bet it's toward the nearest ovum.
