Title: Is giving blood a good way to lose weight?
Post by: thedoc on 04/06/2014 13:30:01
John Gamel asked the Naked Scientists:

I just donated blood today, and it gave me a thought: is this a good way to lose weight? After all, that pint weighed around one pound.

I know we our bodies make up for the lost fluid, but the protein and lipids in our blood are "lost" to our metabolism, so this must "cost" our bodies some calories.

Look forward to your response. And keep up the good work.
