It amazes me that hail and water is suspended in clouds for so long. It mystifies me that it does not immediately fall. What a lovely idea if one could sit in a boat in the clouds. What holds it all up? The water form blocks often bigger than golf balls!

Nice link, Neil. The Landsat picture shows the aftermath of a hailstorm that produced grapefruit-sized hail. It devastated the area, including the Landsat groundstation. Car roofs were dented, windshields broken, windows smashed, and the hail went through the 10 meter antennas.
