Title: WHY?

My Niece's youngest Son is dead and why? and for what?

Murdered by two low life scum a few days before his 20th birthday.

This is the reality of our wonderful country!

A few years ago my life was threatened by two such people in front of my wife. One had a felling axe in his hand the other was pealing an orange with a huge bowie knife growling and smirking in my face. I ended up with the axe and they ended up running for their lives when I asked which one of them wanted a parting first! This was one of the main reasons we moved to Devon.

Andrew, my deepest empathy for you present suffering. It is a horrible situation you are in and absolutely needless.

Unfortunately, I don't think it just where you are. It is happening everywhere. Last Wednesday my life was threatened outside of a gas (petrol) station - convenience store combo by a gun-wielding teen-ager who was pissed off that this old cripple with a cane (moi) wasn't getting out of his way fast enough. He wanted to park his car. I went to the restroom and locked the door. As I emerged from the restroom he was driving away. The clerk said he had put the gun in the waste of pants, covered it with his shirt and bought a 6-pack of beer. It was 11 AM at the time and this child was already loaded. The attendant didn't even call the police and I was late for an important meeting. I am sure the kid was seen on the closed circuit TV.

I have many ideas about why, but I think it is mainly because most people do not know how to handle or adapt to the greatest changes in technology the world has ever seen. They are not educated to adapt, their parents can't or will not understand and they (the parents) are the second generation of people raised this way. These little idiots, and the older ones as well, are modern-day Luddites, just extremely more violent versions and not organized.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I wish I could think of a real answer to the question "Why" or better yet a way to stop it happening again to someone next week and again the week after. The simple answer seems to be bad luck.

Thank you so much for your words and for sharing your own experiences. I have no answers for what is going on in our country except that swelling the population with even more people from overseas, from where the level of violence and the minuscule value they place upon each others life has inevitably been transferred to the streets of Britain by politicians who probably even understand the implications of what they are doing to cause instability and destroy peace.
When we moved from Birmingham, the last heading in a newspaper was that some club in Birmingham was found to be selling Uzi Machine pistols around 20 years ago. It is now common knowledge that many people have guns in the U.K.

I jokingly add when asked why I moved from Birmingham. “We are refugees” This raises a smile, but is spoken as truth and disquiet. My own children were never let out of our sight, never permitted to play away from the garden, so could never enjoy the freedom there that we had enjoyed when we were kids. It is a war zone in many of our cities, people are dying and no one cares. I had a workshop in Smethwick, went to work one day to learn of a body found in a skip close to where I worked. During the same week 2 bodies were found near to the railway line half a mile down the road from the first body. My wife confronted a black youth who had smashed a window on a car and was helping himself to the stereo etc. She shouted at him expecting him to run away. He casually looked up and carried on steeling from the cars in daylight, oblivious to the law. Who is accountable for letting this plague of violence spiral out of control?

Update on the death of Richard. Having spoken to my family in Birmingham, I have now learned that he was a quiet lad that avoided confrontation. He was attacked by a gang of 30 and kicked and punched until he was dead. This was reported in the local newspapers. But has been reported as a brawl outside a notorious pub. 30 people atacking a young defenceless lad is not a "Brawl" in my opinion.

A young man has died after he was beaten up outside a "notorious" pub during a mass brawl.

Richard Joseph Blakeway, 19, suffered a fractured skull after what police called a "disorder" broke out on Friday and spilled on to the street.

Yesterday an 18-year-old from Dudley was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 22-year-old on suspicion of assault.

An ambulance found Mr Blakeway, from Rowley Regis, West Mids, at 11.50pm slumped on a pavement unconscious.

A resident who lives near the Chaplin pub said: "We heard arguing and screaming, the sound of smashed glass for 20 minutes until police arrived.

"There has been trouble at that pub for 18 months now. Everybody was expecting something like this sooner or later."

Begining to put together what Happened to Richard and found out a little more while visiting the place where he was murdered. Cause and effect are understood in Science but apply to events outside science. The knock on effect from an event can be far reaching.

In the wild, predators hunt by singling out individuals and separating them from the herd or pack making it easier to pick them off without fear of reprisal from the larger members. They often pick the smaller or weaker members of the group, usually the very young, weak, infirm or sick. This is the rule of nature and the survival of the fittest and is constructed to make sure that the predator eats and is able to feed the family.

On the streets of the United Kingdom we also have predators but the motives are a lot less admirable than those of the African Wild Dog. Nevertheless the strategy is the same and adults and youths for no apparent reason are attacking individuals that stray from their circle of friends and vent aggression on any unfortunate bystander. These packs of predators are roaming our streets in search of their next victim. In the case of Richard Blakeway being separated from his social group of friends and family arose because he wanted a cigarette and due to yet more ill thought out government bureaucracy forced upon the British public he was forced to leave the warm friendly environment of the local public house and stand outside in freezing temperatures like some lost or outcast animal, leaving him open for predation.

Indeed the new law that forces many of us onto the dangerous arena outside of public houses, where it has long been a notorious place for fighting has caused this young innocent and inoffensive soul to be brutally murdered outside the Chaplin’s Public House in Rowley Regis, a mere 10 minute walk from the safety of his own home and family was instigated because he had asked one of the predators outside the pub for a light.

His bruised, bleeding and battered body lay unconscious on the cold winter pavement where he was robbed of his few possessions, a mobile phone, some money and his murderers even attempted to rip a chain from his neck but found it too difficult running away into the night with the phone that could have made the call that saved his life.

The predators have now learned how to find easy prey.

Police are looking for the other people involved in Richards murder. If you have information please make contact. Police, say a number of people were in the immediate area of the pub at the time and are asking them to contact the incident room on 0845 1135000

We need the help ot the National Press to locate the rest of the thugs involved with Richards murder and to highlite the true cost of forcing smokers onto the streets at night.

Andrew
