I'm looking for the millionaire , any takers.
A few years ago when I was earning megabucks as a freelance computer consultant, I went to Seasons restaurant (the Roux brothers' place). I ordered a post-pranial vintage port and they tried to palm me off with a ruby.I queried it, very politely, with the wine waiter. The ignorant upstart tried to tell me I was wrong. Damnable impudence! Since when has vintage port been red? It should be delicious brown.Well, I went into 1. I did. I threw my toys out of my pram. Eventually a sycophantic restaurant manager came to my table and, kow-towing appropriately (his head was hung so low I thought he was trying to vacuum the carpet with his mouth), removed the offensive liquid; offering me a free glass of better vintage port than I'd originally asked for.Not only that, but when I asked for the bill, the manager gave me a 10% discount and refused to accept the tip I offered.RESULT!

Limerence, as posited by psychologist Dorothy Tennov, is an involuntary cognitive and emotional state in which a person feels an intense romantic desire for another person (the limerent object). Limerence can often be what is meant when one expresses "having a crush" on (or infatuation with) someone else although limerence, unlike a crush, can last months, years or even a lifetime. It is characterized by intrusive thinking and pronounced sensitivity to external events that reflect the disposition of the limerent object towards the individual. It can be experienced as intense joy or as extreme despair, depending on whether the feelings are reciprocated.
While the use of the word has not gained widespread acceptance, nor can it be found in most current dictionaries, limerence theory is nevertheless used in psychological studies dealing with romantic love and is frequently discussed by those interested in Tennov's work. Tennov describes limerence as beginning with a barely perceptible feeling of increased interest in the limerent object, that, if nurtured by appropriate conditions, can grow to enormous intensity, although in most cases it subsides to a low level after some time. At this stage, states Tennov, limerence is either transformed through reciprocation or it is transferred to another person who then becomes the new limerent object.
Under the best of conditions the waning of limerence through mutuality is accompanied by the growth of an emotional response more suitably described as love.
Limerence is probably more likely to be common amongst post-adolescents and young adults due to the levels of uncertainty and lack of self esteem that are found within limerence.
This is because these are stages where most people have heightened interest in another person or people due to the seeking out of a relationship. Most people establish relationships, or begin 'dating' at this phase in life.Limerence can be stopped when a person establishes a genuine love with a limerant object or another person. Differences between limerence occurring in males and females have not yet been established.
I bought a box of dates a couple of weeks ago. They were nice.
