Dear Chris,
I am an avid fan of your science presentations with Fran Kelly on the ABC.
I am a psychiatrist and Jungian analyst in Melbourne, Australia and very interested in trauma, dissociation, memory and neurophysiology. I wonder how traumatic memory is stored in neuronal networks : How is it sustained, why doesn't it decay, how is it altered (eg as a result of an analytic process). How is it laid down in young children as mental maps and how are these altered. Difficult questions. I was wondering how to access the latest work on memory and trauma that might shed light on my questions in the context of my analytic work and in particular my work with developmental trauma in Aboriginal communities in country Australia. I believe there are groups in Cambridge and Oxford who work in this area. Could you direct me to relevant research in this area?
