Stephen of Johannesburg asked the Naked Scientists:

With imported rice alleged to have higher that permissible arsenic levels. Is there a simple way to test these levels?

What do you think?

What equipment do you have access to?
Even with fairly basic kit you can do this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsh_test
or
http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ed014p130?journalCode=jceda8
but you need someone who knows what they are doing to get reliable results.
