Title: mass spectrometry

Hi,
i need help.

i have a mass spectrometry and i need to know which element has this MS.
i have this values:

28 - 100,0 (the highest)
32 - 23,0
18 - 5,0 (so there will probably be water)
14 - 4,0
40 - 2,0

10x!

PS- i'm sorry for my english, but i'm an italian student :P

Could it be an air sample from a shower? N2, O2, H2O as you say, don't know about the last two though [:D]

Seriously though, I'm not an expert (obviously!) but I might be able to find out.  Can you tell us any more about it, ionisation method, how the sample was introduced and where the sample was from?

That does look like an air leak to me.  Are you analysing gasses??  If not could you set the lowest scanned mass to about 50 to get rid of these peaks (after sorting out the air leak of course)
