Hi all,
A group of us are currently doing a project designing a satellite. On the satellite there will be an X-Ray Imaging camera instrument.
The instrument has the followings specs:
Energy Range - 5 - 200 keV
Energy Res - 3 - 5 keV
Field of View - 20deg x 40 deg
Energy, time and pos - 8 bits resolution
Angular res - 2 degrees
Spatial res - 20km at 550 km altitude
max count rate 10^5 counts/sec
Array - 40 x 10 CZT detectors
Measurement period - 10 secs before and after event.
Image mode/Energy Mode - 1second
Mass - 32.3kg
Envelope - 30 x 50 x 50cm
Power - 14W
Basically i need to find what storage is needed if this camera is continuously on for 45 minutes. I am a bit confused about some of the terms. What is 40 x 10 CZT detectors? Does it mean we have 10 detectors of 40 width each or one detector of 40 x 10?
How can i relate the counts per second to the number and area of detectors and then the resolution.
If someone coudl shed some ligth that would be great.
