Here is a book to argue that one cannot avoid the reproductions of ideas too. it is false. But convincing. Have a look at it here: http://www.geocities.com/stella.plays/Why_do_we_reproduce.pdf
This would convince enough number of people to have great debates in the days to come.

Why is a paper that tries to look like a genuine academic production be posted on a Geocities site?
-
If that's trying to look like an academic paper it isn't succeding.
I don't know if it's true or false because it's gibberish.
Here's a brief excerpt to save people the bother of down;oading it
"Uniformity as an equivalence
» What are the equivalences of uniformity?
» How is uniformity as an equivalence among differences?
» How are the equivalences of uniformity sensed?
Uniformity as a uniqueness
» What is the uniqueness of uniformity?
» How is uniformity as a uniqueness among equivalences?
» How is the uniqueness of uniformity sensed?
Uniformity as a limit
» What does uniformity limit?
» How does uniformity limit links?
» How are those limited by uniformity sensed?"

In answer to the original question, we reproduce so that we don't run out.

I nearly ran out screaming, after reading a bit of that stuff.
Perhaps I should have reproduced instead. Or perhaps he could reproduce off?
