This is absolutely stunning. Even non-musicians will appreciate this.

Yes indeed! There's also this chap...

Not wishing to boast but I can play 6-string guitar like that. I tune it DADGBD (from the bottom string) & normally play in the key of Gmajor. With open-tuning like that it's a lot easier & even if you miss a note, the open string is still in the right key.
-
That sounds like a top tip, and as if I need another guitar. I'm not spending hours re-tuning!
You should put something up of you playing, next to your ponies! (Not playing next to your ponies, but on google, where the video.......you know what I mean!)
-
What's the "G" clamp on the bridge for?
-
I'll see what I can do. Bit difficult at the moment as we've got Sandra's sister & her 2 young kids (brat #3 is 1 of hers) staying here due to domestic problems. So, as you can imagine, the house is a bit crowded. And the way those kids fiddle with things, my guitars are safely shut away.
-
Rather than using a capo which closes all strings, the G-clamp can be used to hold a particular fret on just 1 string.
-
I see. Not very pretty though, eh? On that 10 string, did I see smaller clamps screwed into the bridge?
-
It looked to me as if there was at least 1 clamp screwed into the neck. I've got to go out now but I'll have another look when I get back.
-
OK thanks!
I'm away for 3 weeks from tomorrow, so if I don't see your response before, have a great time, and catch up after!
-
Where are you off to?
-
Holiday for the first 2 in France (near Montélimar) and the 3rd I'll be in Poland (Warsaw) at a Forestry conference representing a European research consortium.

Yes he is very good indeed. He has extensive musical knowledge... unlike me! LOL
-
My four years consisted of basic music knowledge learning how to read it and a lot of the terms, not much for background etc. etc. Played a few instruments, but haven't picked one up in years... Have tinkered on the keyboard and a piano.. Really like those but cannot play worth a darn. can pluck out some notes if I practice a while it been some years...
-
My knowledge is 2 years of Piano, 8 months of Guitar, and 4 years of Saxophone. Granted most of it stayed the same from instrument, but I taught myself everything!!

DOC, NEIL, MIRAGE!! All the information on my amp! Lots of pictures!
-
I've not had anything to do with Roland amps, but Roland is a well-respected manufacturer of other products so it's probably very good.

I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave in another post. To whit...
2 Mini Moogs; Korg K1; Yamaha DX7, DX9 & DX10; WASP; SIM VS3; TS404 & FL3X synthesisers.
Yamaha PF-1000 electric piano.
Kurtzweil PC1X 88-key MIDI controller keyboard.
Slingerland & Ludwig drums.
Zildjain cymbals (high-hat, 2 crash, 1 ride, 1 sizzle) - the only good things to have come out of Turkey!
Modified Gibson SG Custom, Ibanez Jem7 VWH, 2 Washburn MG-24, Starfield Galaxy custom, LTD MAG-5 5-string, electric guitars.
Martin J4 acoustic guitar.
Colin Morison classical guitar.
Ampeg 5-string & Fender Precision bass guitars.
Yamaha upright bass.
Yamaha electric fiddle.
Non-descript Gaelic harp that I won out-drinking a paddy in Waterford.
Hohner chromatic harmonica.
Zoom, Dodd, Jezkola, Zephod & ElectronX FX units.
A tambourine I pinched from the Sally army carollers for a dare a few years back.
A few other bits & pieces that happened to be lying around - including a 6x4 lump of mahogany that sounds good when whacked with an iron poker.
And I've just realised I put MAG-5 5-string guitar when I meant MAG-7 7-string. [:I]
-
Doc when can I come over? HAHA. Jm, but sweetness!
-
Then there are my amps & speakers (I've got 4 4x12 cabs and a Fender combo with external 2x10 cab). As you can imagine, things get a wee bit crowded [:D]
-
when you say cab, do you mean taxi?
