Dear all. How are ewe today ? well ?..good !..I'm Ok...went for a walk with my youngest two earlier.....boy..that was fun !
As a sheepy, I of course luff static electricity...out of all the electricity that just sits there doing sod all...static electricity is my all time fave.
Look, here's Gemima Bad-Hair-Day The 3rd enjoying some static electric joyness ! created by a Van de Graaff generator.

Gemima Bad-Hair-Day The 3rd earlier today !
Nice eh ?...she's being delivered next Tuesday to be used as a toilet brush !
Static electricity can also be generated when I rub my top on my hair and it makes all sparks happen !
What I'd like to know is where does the electricity come from ?
Is it really static ?
Does something in my top or my hair get used up to make the electricity ? ie: do I lose some of the material of my top and hair in the process ?
Is there a maximum charge that can be created with my top and hair ?
Ewe see, I really do not know....do ewe know ?
Will ewe help me know and learn about static electricity ?
Hugs & shmishes
mwah mwah !
Neil

Sometimes, after a long run in my trusty van, I might get a little tingle of static when I get out. This is not the result of a Van de Graaff thingy, but a Van de Transit thingy, look:

Since this happens only after moving, I fail to understand why its called 'static' electricity.(https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fclueless%2F1.gif&hash=ba6e884e2ac18d739c0e89967c82862b)

I too receive electric shock therapy when egress-ing my car !
If only there was a haulage company that specialises in the events industry since 1982 that I could ask for advice !...One that specifically shows ewe the inside of the back of a truck ...even better if it was in situ at a place of employ !........

Yes, had such a haulage company existed in 1980 I would not have had to drive our company van all the way from Prestwick to friggin' Paris for a printing industry exhibition. And, I don't mind telling you, it was not easy, 'cos it get's really wet just South of Dover.

Isn't static electricity and lightning the same thing? Thanks for comments. Joe L. Ogan

AHHhh! So you're the one who tried to do a General Lee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GJTv7j2s8I&playnext=1&list=PL61908361B3B8D9BF) at the bottom of Jubilee Hill. You're supposed to get on the ferry!
