Happy Christmas to you!

DAVESHORTS DID WRITE: "OR SHOULD THE CATHOLIC CHURCH GIVE MOST OF IT'S LAND TO THE DRUIDS?"
The  druids did disappear 1000 years ago...
It is impossible  to give something to the druids because  the druids are not exist now. :))
==========================================================
DAVESHORTS DID WROTE: "SHOULD THE BRITISH GIVE BACK A THIRD OF THEIR LAND TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?"
For example, In Italy there was the  problem with lands  in relations between Italian government and Roman Popes... The Italian government did decide the problem  with the Latheran agreement between Italy and Vatican on February 11, 1929.  According to the Latheran agreement, the Catholic Church has not any territorial claims  to Italy but Italian government  did pay for it  a financial compensation  (with 1 000 000 000 US dollars of total payments ) to the Catholic Church .
The United Kindgom and Vatican  can sign  an agreement similar to the Latheran agreement. between Italy and Vatican..
==========================================================
DAVESHORTS DID WRITE: ".. WE BOUGHT FROM SOMEONE WHO BOUGHT IT FROM SOMEONE WHO STOLE IT FROM A MONASTARY 800 YEARS AGO"
If now  the monastary is exist   then it is need to return the thing to the monastary. :))
===========================================================================
DAVESHORTS DID WRITE: "WHAT ABOUT IF THE MONEY USED TO MAKE SOMETHING CAME FROM
STEALING  STUFF IN A WAR?"
If it is proved the moneys were stolen and if it is known a name of legal owner of the moneys then it is need to return the money to the legal owner.
===========================================================================
OPHIOLITE DID WRITE:"as a resident of the north east of Scotland I can safely say the rightful place for the Elgin marbles is in Elgin."

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! :))

Neilep did write:   "Will ewe let me at them before they get returned ?.."
NO !..

Daveshorts did write:
"The only problem with this arguement is that if everyone had to give back all the art that has been historically stolen, the louvre would be half empty, the russians would have to give back all the stuff they pinched in the second world war..."

If everyone had to give back all the art that has been historically stolen then it can be a  good action for
international relations between countries and for a peace in the world....
Any english specialists can create  for the British Museum a copy of the Parthenon's marble.
White marble is rare and precious material to copy something in a marble.. If England has a marble's lack  then any english specialists  can create for a collection of  the British museum a gypsum's fake....

But an original of the Elgin marble (Parthenon's marble)  it is need to return to Greece.
The only legal  place for the Elgin marble (Parthenon's marble)  it is the Parthenon in Athens,Greece.

3
Any larceny is criminal action....
About a history of the Elgin marbles. In the 1805 year an english ambassador in the Ottoman empire he did steal the Parfenon's  marble in Greece... The ambassador was a criminal person.
The Parthenon's marble  it  is an ownership of Greece..
Therefore it is need to return the Elgin marble  to Greece.

4
Some questions about a history and an archaelology..
What is an age of the Egyptian Sphinx?

Is it possible for historical science to determine the exact historical date of a death of  medieval noble  persons and kings  (a year, a month, and  a day of a death) by a research of the skeletons of the medieval  noble  persons and  kings ?

Are there any  danger for scientists from skeletons of  medieval noble persons and kings  did die  from a plague or any other mortal diseases?

Jim Bob.
Thank you. I did use  internet -programs like the  Google  for a search  ...
Basic information about the Carboniferous age and about other geological ages I did read...
But the basic problem  is :
1) It is difficult to find in internet any detailed geographical maps for  ancient geological ages (with lines of  ancient rivers, mountains, caves, lakes etc with  lines of geografical latitudes, longitudes  etc)....I need a help...Write , please, any link to any groups of maps with a  scale on 1:10 000 000 .(100 kilometers in  1 santimeter)  for the Carboniferous age of  the 300th million year BC, for  all areas of all  continents and islands  of the  time..
2) Modern fauna and flora  are divided into areas (Neotropical area , Paleotropical area, Australian area etc)
What was  the area's  division of global flora anf fauna for the Carboniferous age?

3) About gigantic insects like centipede "Arthropleura" (a length of 1.8 m) and gigantic arthropleurids of the Carboniferous age.. What was a basic food for  the Arthropleura and for the arthropleurids? About the gigantic rhizodont fish (a length of 7 meters)..What was an areal of  the kind of the fish during the Carboniferous ages?

6
During the Carboniferous age 300 millions years ago instead of birds  there were  a lot of giant insects,  and a lot of swamps and rain forests ...
What was the biggest type of insects of the time?
What was a basic food for  the giant insects?
Were there  any inseñts of prey?
Were there any giant flyes, giant spiders, giant ants,
and giant bees?

7
What was an origin of monkeys according to evolution theory?

What is an age and a homeland of the most ancient monkey fossils?

Is it true a hypothesis about a monkey did spring from rodents like squirrels and mouses? Or the monkeys did spring from any type of dinosaurs?

8
The ice age. Why it was exist in Europe,Russia, Canada and USA  10 000 years ago but now it is not exist?  What were causes for the  changes of global climate 10000 years ago?

Why the Wurm's ice age did last during 85000 years
but  the Mindel's  ice age did last during 20000 years only? .
Is it possible an appearance of any  new ice ages in the Earth's future ?

The extra-terrestrials, aliens, batmans ,vampires  are personages of movies and fairy tales...
The stories  are fairy tales for children.. In real life of the Earth you do not find any extra-terrestrials,vampires
and werewolves..
The  most part of the "Unknown .Flying Objects" it is   military  machines of  the Earth's countries...
The military "UFOs" fly to observe with military goals  any terrestrial objects of any foreign countries....
The military machines can  stop itselves in an atmosphere "to stand" in an air..
The military machines can  fly in atmosphere in any directions,  horizontally or vertically towards to up and towards to down.
But in the Earth and in the Solar system  there are not any extra-terrestrial machines and there are not any   live organisms of extra-terrestrial origine.

What is your opinion?

A sky 's image it depend on a latitude, and it depend on a time..But in  latitudes of Russia (and in England's latitudes )  it is impossible  to observe a lot of bright constellations of the Southern hemisphere like Centaurus, Crux , Carina etc...
I think , the best place to observe stars it is an equator... Last month I had a possibility to observe tropical  sky when I had  a rest  in Caribbean Sea  in a yacht with my girlfriend ... The  tropical  sky of Cuba it has another view than a sky in Russia.. Tropical night  of the Caribbean Sea it  is very beautiful... There are a lot of stars...But  some polar constellations of  Russia's  sky I did not find in the Caribbean Sea's  tropical sky ...
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A quote: "The star parameters that you give are very detailed and terse information understandable by experts.  "
The most part of the  parameters I know how to decode.
For example, .the description ("21 alpha     And   15   0 08 15.5   +29 04 36  fvd6      2.06  -0.46 -0.11  B9p Hg Mn") it is :
alpha Andromedae, with co-ordinates in a sky (0 08 15,5  and + 29 04 36),.with a brightness 2.06, variable star, double star, hot blue star of spectral type  B9p Hg Mn. "Hg" is a mercury and "Mn" is a manganese..
But some parameters it is unknown for me.. And I did ask to help to explain it.
For example, what is the sign  "9p" of the spectral type  B9pHg Mn?
Why the star alpha Anromedae has a manganese and  a mercury? How to explain it?
It is possible you do not know it but I hope someone  can  explain  it.
Answer, please, if you know answers for the questions...

Dear Soul Surfer, uk micky and syhprum! Thank  you for a help.
Yesterday in our city (St-Petersbourg City, Russia) there was  not a rain and last night we have a cloudless sky to observe  stars...
Last night my girlfriend did want to find a Mars in a sky   but I do not find the Mars yesterday....Is it possible tonight to observe the Mars with  St- Petersbourg's latitude(60 N) ?

I want to ask some questions about stars.. Answer, please.
I did read a  list with a description of  some  thousands stars:
http://aa.usno.navy.mil/publications/AstroAlmanac/bstar97.html

Some parameters of the star list it is difficult to understand.
Explain, please, what is what.
For examlple, a description is :
10 beta      Lyr 7106  18 49 59.3   +33 21 35  fcvd6     3.45  -0.56  0.00  B7 Vpe (shell)
21 alpha     And   15   0 08 15.5   +29 04 36  fvd6      2.06  -0.46 -0.11  B9p Hg Mn
 68 omicron   Cet  681   2 19 13.1   - 2 59 20  vd        2-10  +1.09 +1.42  M5.5-9e III + pec

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Questions:
1) Decode , please, what are what in the records:  "B7Vpe (shell)", "B9p Hg Mn", "M5.5-9e III + pec"
"G8 III-IV CN-0.5 HÂ 0.5"?
2) What is a difference between stars of spectral types "O" and "B"?
3) Why beta Lyra  is  a "shell"?
4) Why into alpha Andromeda there are  a mercury and a manganese? How to explain it?
5) A very strange pecular stars... Why  omicron Cet and  eta Car are pecular stars?

13
Answer, please, the 5 questions.
How to find  any planets (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) in a sky?
How to find  any planets (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) in a sky tonight?
What are co-ordinates of  current location of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in a sky tonight?

Is it possible to observe any comets in a sky without a telescope?
Is it possible to observe any Jupier's satellits and Saturn's rings  with a tiny telescope?

Just Chat ! / A life is nothing?
« on: 19/05/2006 12:28:07 »
William Shakespeare did write that  a life  is nothing.

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing." (W. Shakespeare, "Macbeth", Act 5 )

A life is nothing? Do you agree with the opinion of  Shakespeare?
What is a life's sense for you?

I doubt that immortality is practically achievable – there is a long step from a lifespan of 100years, or 200years, or 400 years, and the infinity of immortality.

To receive an immortality  there are some ways.
It is known that the basic death's causes are  heart's diseases.
Human heart can not work eternally.
Instead of old human heart, it is need to put an artifical heart into the human breast. An energetic resource of an artifical hearth is not eternal.  But  the old artifical heart with a time it will be replace by new artigical heart by medical operations. When the new artifical heart will become old it will be replace by new artifical heart etc.
With a system of artifical hearts a person  can live endlessly.

Is it  an immortality?
Do you think it is impossible to create an artifical heart for a wise science of  future centuries?

With a science's progress the significant increase of human life it is inevitablity. But if a people has  zero's birth rate then  the people will die out.
Do you think that by the way the human civilization will die out?

The Earth 's volume is 1 trillon of cubic kilometers.

The Earth's oxygen is a tiny part of the Earth's matter.

Do you think that Earth's  oxygen is unlimited ?
Do you think that with an energy (and by an energy) it is possible to transform a stone into a bread, a water into a vin, and  space's  vacuum into an oxygen?

Robots are better than humans at doing everything.
Robots work during 24 hours daily.
Robots do not need a salary . Robots do not need a rest.

Human workers they'll be unempoyed.
Human workers they'll be beggars.
Human workers they'll by without chances to earn money by legal way.

A medecine and genetics has a goal to provide an eternal live without a death . Imagine, that a science will fulfill it and human persons will become immortal.

It is not good.
The immortal human persons will give birth to new children. The immortal  children will give a birth to new children etc.  In short time The Earth will be overcrowded  with billions, trillions, quintillions of
human immortal persons.

The immortal civilization will be increase itself with very fast speeds.
When the growing human population will consume all  Earth's inches to live, the human civilization will be similar to swarmed sphere of worms..
But resources of the Earth is limited. Resources of any other planet is limited too. In short time the giant human populations will consume planet's waters, oxygene, food etc totally.
But It is proved that Without a water and a food an existence of any forms of live organisms is impossible.
Therefore without a food and a water the civilization will be have not any immortality and the human civilization will die out.

Ha-Ha! Sorry, but it is impossible because human person does not work  without any necessity.
If robotic labour will replace manual labour then human person will be not work in any field. The humans they'll be rest at home and at health resorts  with a lifestyle of good-for-nothing persons and robot will be work for the useless human person and instead of humans.
All works (include a science) human persons will  give for robots ..

But even  Modern Calclulators calculate results with much more fast speeds than humans can do the operation. Modern chess champion is computer did win a chess rivalry against human chess champion..

With a science's progress the robot's civilization will be much more wise than the human civilization..
With a time "wise robot's civilization" will establish a dominance over "foolish" human civilization  in all fields...
It is possible that the sensible wise robot's civilization will destroy "foolish" human civilization similar to Spanish concistadors did destroy American indians. Human civilization will disappear.

A creation of sensible monsters like robots it is not good future for human civilization..Human science will produce a sensible wise monsters but the monsters can destroy humans.

You forget that a  lot of trees (for example: a fir, a pine-tree)  produce chlorophyll  during everytime of year, but a grass is absent during winter times with a snow and low temperature..
You forget that into  a forests there is a grass too.
In addition to a grass into forests there are  trees and bushs with shelves. There are a moss, ferns, lianas  etc.
An acre of forest's area   produces much more  chlorophyll's volume with O2 than an acre of   any
agricultural fields or any  pastures with a grass....     ..
Look at  figures of chlorophyll's volumes in forests and  in agricultural fields and  by the figures you' ll see your error.
The forests are basic source of the Earth's chlorophyll. The global volume of clorophyll depend on the Earth's areas of forests.

No, it is not true.
According to the astronomy's science In 4.5 billions years the Sun will become a red giant star and the Earth will be dissolve into the Sun. Of course, before the time the Earth's life will be burn by the growing Sun. The Earth's planet will be not exist eternally.
Therefore, your supposition that "This will not be enough to destroy all life on Earth, but it will certainly provide a thorough spring clean" the supposition is false.

Probably, you forget that the Sun will be not a star forever.
But the Earth's life depend on the Sun's warm and light.
If you think that a life of any planet can exist eternally then
your supposition is an great error.

Just Chat ! / English queen.. What for?
« on: 28/04/2006 08:23:21 »
Some questions for citizens of The United Kingdom, Australia and Canada..

1) English citizens have not a right to elect the England's ruler by voting.. English kings (queens) receive the office without any elections, without any democracy and without any voting by a people...
Queen consumes a money of english tax-payers but the english tax-payers have not rights to elect (or to dismiss) the official person by voting.

In Australia and Canada a country's head is a foreigner.. A humour that the foreigner does not live in Australia and Canada. The foreigner is english queen.
A humour that the foreigner consumes a money of australian and canadian tax-payers but the foreigner does not work for Canada and Australia.

What is "a use" from the non-democratic system for the UK, Australia and Canada?
Dear citizens of Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom!
Did you have any referendums to have a possibility, a right to choose between a republic and a monarchy?
Do you need the english queen or any other useless kings?

Yes , Sirius is double star.
White dwarf Sirius B turns itself around Sirius A with a period of 1 round  per 50 years.
It is possible that Sirius B has a lot of satellits. Planets can turn itselves around Sirius B with a period of 1/2, 1, 2, 5 years like the Earth, Venus, Mars, Mercury  etc.  It is possible.
Some planets can have oceans and atmosphere of O2.
It is possible that Sirius A  has a lot of satellits. The planets can turn itselves around Sirius A with a period of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 years etc like Mars, Jupiter, Earth, etc.

A lot of planets can have system of moons.
It is possible an existence of double planets when a moon is equal with mass to chief planet of planet's  system. Big moons can have an atmosphere.

Soul Surfer wrote:

Any system can not be stable forever.
The Solar system will be not stable forever.
All systems of Universe's stars and Universe's live organisms and societies the systems and organisms are provisional.
They appear,a part of time they live and after they die.

About an appearance of life 4000 millions years ago there are not serious
facts to prove the supposition.

No, it is not true.
Conditions during the Proterozoic era(2500-542 million years ago)there were comfortable conditions for complex life. There were a water,an air with an oxygen, oceans and rivers.

Violent bad conditions for a part of organisms the conditions can be very
comfortable for an other part of organisms.
For example, a very cold weather is comfortable conditions  for a walrus, but the cold is deadly bad conditions for an elephant.

Thanks for your answer, Michael.
It was interesting for me to read your opinion.
I did read your opinion and I have some questions to you, Michael.

Michael wrote: Spica is 260 million light years away.

For example, the Guinness world book of records wrote:
The farest object you can see without a telescope:
"The Andromeda's Nebula (a giant spiral galaxy).
A distance is 2.3 million light years away."

The star Spica can not be more far than the Andromeda's Nebula.
It is your error.
The brightest stars of Earth's sky the stars are situated not far to the Solar system in area between 4 and 900 light years to the Solar system.
Spica is one of the stars.
About a distance to Spica I did see a figure of 220 light years.  You wrote a figure "260 milions years away". What is an information's  source with the figure which you wrote?.
=======================================================
Michael wrote:
the red super giant Betelgeuse which is 600 years away .

About a distance to Betelgeuse I did see different figures.
The World Guinness book of records wrote that the distance is 300 light years.
=============================
Michael wrote:
"Betelgeuse which is 600 years away.. it is so big at present.."
.

The Earth's view of any star which is  600 light years away, it is a view which the star did have 600 years ago.
Modern situation into the star a science can not to know because
it is impossible to receive any information  more rapidly than the light's speed.
==================================================================

Michael wrote:
"The next one which could go supernova and could go at anytime is the red super giant Betelgeuse.."
.

Why do you think so?
What is chemical composition of Betelheuse with percentages?

Red giant stars are life's final of the Sun's type of stars.
There are forecasts that In 4.5 billion year the Sun will become a red giant star like Betelheuse.
Red star can not detonate itself. The red giant star will become more and more cold and with a time the star transform itself into white dwarf star like the Sirius B (a satellite of the Sirius star).

Yes the Betelgeuse is very big.
The red giant stars are very big, but red stars are not hot.
For example, The Sun has much more hot temperature than Betelgeuse.
=================
Michael wrote:
"The next one which could go supernova and could go at anytime is the red super giant Betelgeuse.."
.

I did read that the stars  could go supernova if the stars more massive than a mass of 2 Suns, and if the stars are more hot than the Sun or any other yellow star.
With the conditions the types of stars which could go supernova stars its are between white and blue stars.

You wrote: "The safe distance would depend on the type and size of the star"

What you can say about potential results of the star Sirius's explosion?
Sirius have a mass more than a mass of 2 Suns.
A Mass of Sirius: 4.26 exatons. (1 exaton= 10e27 tons)
A diameter of Sirius: 2.33 millions km. (1mile= 1.6km)
Star class of Sirius is: A1.  (A1 is a type of white stars)
A distance between Sirius and the Solar system it is 8.6 light years.
A lightness of Sirius is like a lightness of 26 Suns.

Answer, please, the message's questions..

What is a distance of  explosion's wave of  Super Nova stars ?

What are potential  consequences for the Solar system if
the giant blue  star  Spica (a star of  the Virgo's constellation close to the Solar system)  will become a Super Nova Star in future?

The Spica has a  lightness in  740 times more big than the Sun's  lightness. The Spica is blue giant superstar.
A distance between Spica and  the Solar System: 220 light years.

I suppose that all stars have satellits and planets.
Star's systems are appeared from  the space's Nebulas. A star take the most part of the Nebula's matter. From an other part of the  matter there is an appearance of  planets, comets around the star.

I have not doubts.  The star must have any planets and satellits.

I suppose that  a lot of  planets can be around the Sirius star.
The Sirius is much more massive  than the Sun and  therefore the attraction's area of  the Sirius it is much more big than the Sun's  area.

The Solar system  have 9 basic planets.
My  supposition that the Sirius system can have about 15-20 basic planets.

Sirius is one of the nearest stars to the Solar system. A distance between Sirius and Solar system it  is about 9 light years.

Some folklore tales of different nations
did say that the nation's ancestors did arrive from the Sirius system.

1)An agriculture do not give chlorophyll's growing.
One of basic parts of an agriculture it is a cattle breeding.
Cows, sheeps and pigs do not produce chlorophyll. With paysants
they consume O2, they drain pastures, and they produce CO2, urine and  excrements. Village's air is an air of cow's excrements..

2)Major reasons for the global fall in the size of forest:
-fast increasing of human population.
-An agriculure with growing areas of new  pastures and  farming lands.
-An industry with  growing areas of cities, new roads and factories.

evolution rules in all things. God says so!"

According to the Bible the God does not say so.
The Bible says that the God did create men but that the God's production was resulted with defects. The God did repent of his action.
The God did decide to destroy "the unsuccesful  creature" of low quality.
The God did destroy the mankind with a deluge.
In the Bible the God did determine the Earth's humans like a civilization of scoundrels, sinners and criminals.
About "the God's plans for future" the Bible wrote about Apokalypsis's plan of the God to annihilate the mankind.

ANOTHER SOMEONE WROTE:
It is probably true that the Earth had more forests in 1906 (although this is not quantifiable), but the loss of forest is not of itself a form of pollution, although it may cause, or be caused by, pollution. The more significant, but more difficult to asses, and always neglected, question is not whether there are more or less forest, but whether there is more or less chlorophyll.

You forget that a chlorophyll's source is trees and plants.
But global forest's areas are diminished..

SOME FORECASTS of REAL ECOLOGIC TRAGEDIES for FUTURE:
Spain's scientists they'll give forecasts that in 100 years Spain can be a desert like Sahara.
Italia's scientists they'll give similar forecasts for Italy.
China's sources they'll give similar forecasts for the Northern half of China.
In 100 years Spain,Italy, Turkey  and others Mediterranean countries can be a desert like Sahara..

Scientists write about causes of it:
1) Diminishing of forest's areas .
2) Global getting warmer. An average year's temperature becomes
more and more hot.
================================
It will be not a surprise if in 100 years the Southern Europe(Spain, Italy etc) and The USA's half   will be a desert like Sahara.
It will  be not a surprise if In 1000 years the Earth will be global desert like Mars .
