hi i would like to make hydrochloric acid
I would start by saying :  DON'T.  If you try such things at home or without supervision of someone with experience in the matter, it is way too dangerous.

If you need information on a subject you know little or nothing off, go to WIKIPEDIA (www.wikipedia.org), select English as language (that is, unless you are more familiar with one of the others) and type the subject of your search in the appropriate window in the left hand column.  It is generally faster than googling.

If you insist on making hydrochloric acid, here is a relatively safe way to produce it as a diluted solution :
  • make a solution of bariumchloride
  • add dilute sulphuric acid (with concentrated acid you will heat up the mix too much)
Bariumsulphate is insoluble and will precipitate.  Filter that off and you have dilute hydrochloric acid (mixed with either sulphuric acid or bariumchloride).  Keep in mind that sulphuric acid and hydrochloric acid are both hazardous products.

You need this:
http://mattson.creighton.edu/History_Gas_Chemistry/Kipps.html
Then you add concentrated H2SO4 drop by drop to solid NaCl. Gas HCl will form and you have to dissolve it in water. The max concentration of HCl in water is around 30% (by weight) so the eccess will go away in air and if you don't have a hood you'll breath it (I don't advise it to you).
So, as eric I said, it's not so easy.

In the example of the link they use solid Zinc and a water solution of HCl to generate hydrogen. To make HCl, you substitute Zn with NaCl and the solution of HCl with H2SO4.

Is there a particular reason you want to MAKE it?  You can buy it pretty easily at any pool supply store or hardware store under the name muriatic acid.  This is generally around 30% HCl, or about 10 M (concentrated is 37% or 12 M).

Having said that, if you're "very new at this" and consider this "fancy talking", then you may want to stay away from this material as it is very hazardous to work with.
