Helium recovery pumps

Can I recover helium from my balloon through a vapor recovery unit of some kind, similar to a vapor recovery unit used for refrigerants.

Sort of. You could pump the He out of the balloon into a tank of some sort. I think the vapour recovery units rely on trapping the vapour on something like charcoal. He doesn't stick easilly to traps like that (unless they are very cold) and the other molecules in the air (mainly O2 and N2) would also stick better than the He.
