http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone_radiation_and_health contains a fairly extensive list of research results.

In general, it is fairly clear that some heating of the head does occur, but on the whole, most results are negative (although mostly the researchers seem to say, we have not found anything today, but please give us more time and money, and we may find something more tomorrow).

Anther result seems to be increased risk of cataract for people who work with microwaves near the eyes, but not pertinent to phones placed against the ears.

I think one problem is that we are all so obsessed by cancer, that we don't look enough at other issues of health (this is not a specific comment about mobile phones, but about most health issues, and it is not to suggest that mobile phones have significant other health issues, only that I think we should generally stop getting obsessed about one particular group of diseases).

I agree with you.
My opinion is that the pressure against the side of your head, when using a mobile phone, is likely to give you trouble due to the  reduced blood circulation.  Is the cauliflower ear beginning to show itself again?
There are other potential dangers than cancer.
Constant use of a mobile will increase your risk of accidents- not just in the car. Also, the present habit of responding instantly to texts and phone calls in company is rude and disruptive. This is having a serious effect on  the way young (in particular) people are able to interact. The ability to concentrate is being lost.
It is also amazing that 'we' are so prepared to spend 20, 30 or more every month for our phones. It is rubbish value and  the phone charges are grossly excessive.  Strange that people still argue the toss about their landline charges which are a fraction of this.

The potential health risks of mobile phones, like anything else will not be known for years. You need to have at least one generation using them before you can make comparisons in the peoples health.

Mobile phones may not be "new" but their widespread popularity and access to all is.

Prof John E. Moulder, PhD, (possibly the World's top expert on the subject) Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin reckons the only danger from mobile phones is the risk off accidents while driving....or batteries exploding.
