condensation on my glass, and window

why is it that when i pour myself a cold glass of drink, the outside of the glass gets what looks like condensation! I also note that my windows get wet on the inside!!! are these related?

Well, let's see. I am watching the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings play REAL smash-mouth football but ...  Oh, here goes -

the higher the temperature of the air of , the more water vapor it can hold. SO, when the air is cooled, either by a glass of ice-cooled liquor fluid or the lower temperature outside, the air must loose the water vapor somehow. At the interface of the temperature differential the water vapor is thus deposited, i.e., condensation.

The same physics applies to the formation of dew outside.
