Dear Lightologists,

See this light bulb ?

Nice eh ?

Notice how calm , collected and ready to incandesce some sparkling radiation it is ?

When it's doing it's thing...does the light increase the pressure inside the bulb ?

I just don't know.....enlighten me will ewe *groan*

OK, if you will use inefficient incandescent light bulbs, that generate lots of heat (infra-red radiation) - ofcourse tit will heat up the gas (even though there is not a lot of it), and this will increase its pressure.

If you men, will the visible light itself (not the infra-red) light exert pressure on the glass - yes, but only in imperceptible amounts (the more so because the glass is transparent - if you had coated glass, the light pressure would be greater - but still not enough to easily measure).
