Hi everyone!
Was wondering if you could help...
How long should you wait before engaging in unprotected sex after finishing a course of amoxicillin for the contraceptive pill to be effective?

Thanks :)

You should use protection anyway.. it is for your health.. contraceptive pill is for pregnancy it will not protect you from STDS!

I am in a serious relationship and we've both been tested, thank you for your concern though.

You should continue to take the pill and use extra protection until you have had your period. After that, you should be OK. If it is the start of your cycle, you will have to take extra precautions all month.

Based on my research, antibiotics do not get in the way in any bad way with the pregnancy as far as I know. The only issue about it is that they affect the birth control pills activity. After taking some antibiotics you should wait between days to a month for the birth control pills to be effective again.
