The bones of a pigeon weigh less than its feathers.

Los Angeles’s full name is: “El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula” and can be abbreviated to 3.63% of its size: “L.A.”

Please feel free to contribute your weird and wonderful facts etc.

AMAZING BEAVER FACTS

Beavers can swim a mile underwater.
An adult beaver's tail is 12 inches or more in length.
Beavers have been known to hold their breath for up to 45 minutes underwater (Neil - get your foot off my head!).
The pyramids were built by beavers.
Beavers are the world's 2nd largest rodent (the largest is the South American capybara - but they're dumb).
The European beaver is up to 30% bigger than the American beaver.

(1 of these facts may not actually be true)

Yes Doctor. I know for certain the Pyramids were built by flocks of weaver bird fist digging out the stones, then weaving baskets to allow 500,000 birds to fly to the construction site and placing the blocks in place. The baskets have since rotted away.

Sir,

This is to inform you that Science will not be held hostage to any demands. Do what you may to ruin science, including tampering with or even committing terrorist acts, will not deter the multiple working hypotheses system then on to repeatable results, to surrender to such thugishness.

Your demands or any future demands will not be met.
