Headaches caused by the weather
« on: 31/01/2008 16:04:24 »
I always get these, whenever there is a storm on it's way. They are worse when the storm is overhead. Is this a real contition, or is it all in my head?

Where else would you expect to get a headache?  :D

I think there's a valid point here. When it's dark & murky, it's harder to see. Therefore our eyes have to work harder; like trying to read at dusk with no light on. Could that be a contributing factor?

Plus, of course, atmospheric pressure increases. Maybe some people are more sensitive to that than are others.

No, it's not the darkness. If i had to guess, i would say pressure. For example, an hour ago we had a hail shower, half an hour before this the headache started, until it was extreme during the hail. The pain began to ease around 30 to 45 minutes after it finished, with the help of some tablets.

Well, I don't disagree with above answers but according to my information it is pressure which causes shrinkage in nerves of brain. Probably it is normal and experienced by majority of people.
