How much does it cost in the UK?
« on: 30/03/2008 03:29:02 »
I have been buying loose Twinnings tea, 8 oz tin, for $7.99. I am wondering how much this same tin would cost in the UK.

Are you nuts? Who would drink anything except the yellow 8 oz tin of Earl Grey (or the occasional green Irish Breakfast tea)?

The Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast teas and ALL TEAS from Twinnings are all $7.99 a 200 g tin, regardless of the particular type of tea.

I guess it is to put it in the yellow or green, red, or blue tin and get it to the US. It seems to be £1 less in the UK.

Me for a start. I think Earl grey tastes like soap powder (ie full of cheap perfume).
Lapsang Souchong is another matter, it tastes like creosote, but I like it.
I guess 1 isn't a bad markup for shipping a product to the US- I guess the demand there isn't high.

I live just up the road from the Twinings factory. I'll ask around and see if I can find someone who works there. I might be able to get some freebies (and some free tea) and send them to you but only if you are nice to me!!!

Why are you eating two fried eggs in the second picture.

I'll see what I can do.
