That's his tear ducts !

The 2 small puncta drain the tear film from the eye to the lacrimal sac and thence to the nose via the naso-lacrimal duct.

Without those black dots you'd have tears dripping down your face all day !

NO SMART ONES
I KNOW WHERE TEAR DUCTS ARE... THIS IS UNDER THE EYE BALL -PULL OUT THE BOTTOM LID AND ITS ON THE THE INSIDE WALL OF THE LID - LOOKS LIKE HE MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN METAL IN HIS EYE AND THE VEIN IS INFLAMED.

YOU GUYS ARE GENIUSES are their any professionals on this site?????[:p]

OK Rizzojojo,
My guess is the same as yours, it's probably a blood vessel.  I was recently watching some hand surgery and the surgeon pulled back some tissue and I saw a black dot there too.  When I asked what it was he told me it was just a blood vessel, and as he dissected further, it became more evident. Then again, we have removed small pieces of metal from the eye as well.  Is it showing signs of inflammation around the dot, or are you just assuming it's a result of some inflammatory process.  In other words, is it red and swollen around the dot?
