Just seen them in the store and read the little sign that says it ads to the acceleration of the head, giving a greater power to the blow.

Other than that I'm clueless - No rude comments, I already thought of them about the clueless statement.

its coz less power is required and the force is transmitted in a jerky manner making it efficient.
