Why am I spitting foam and not really saliva?
« on: 09/05/2008 23:15:55 »
My mouth has been dry for two days, my food is harder to swallow and I have been drinking my required amount of water and still I went to spit in the sink cause I thought I had gotten a dog hair in my mouth... Yuckk.. but I have no saliva to spit it is barely moist and no matter how hard I tried only some very foamy looking little moisture came from my mouth.... now the doctors have cut my water back some two quarts a day including any other liquid and juice from fruit... I feel very thirsty and drink but I am not producing enough liquid to make spit unless I am wrong... my voice is even trailing off...

Is this dehydration and should I make the doctor check me again... LOL.. too much water not enough water diuretics more water less water because of fluid and Bla bla bla bla bla...

any good advice before I go stick my face under the faucet and drown myself... dude I am even following very low sodium diet..... my mouth is dry and my throat scatchy and I am thirsty!!!

pssssT and my eyeballs are dry as a bone and gritty feeling.. I am fixing to add some eye drops!

And getting quite aggitated..... I might add!!!

I think its a combination of the new antidepressant and opiate painkiller that is causing your dry mouth. I am pretty certain mixing these two class of drugs is hazardous.

I have only taken 5 norco since he prescribed them.... I hate pills... i am taking the regular hydrocodone/apap at bedtime so I can try to sleep I have had  extreme days where I had to take an norco in the daytime..when my arm was bad bad bad.

I have not switched antidepressant... its the same cellexa generic called Citalopram....the doctor has approved them together as being compatable.

The citalopram should'nt cause dry mouth but the hydrocodone is an opiate.  Maybe the hydrocodone is building up in your blood because of poor kidney function ? Under these circumstances maybe you need to lower the dose ?

I'll put a call into the Doctor.. as I feel really awful today.. Have a bad bad migrain and am achy and just hurting all over today.. its almost 11:30 and I just barely managed the computer I was in bed since way early yesterday night  until moments ago.. and think I may have to go back and lie down.. increased my liquid cause I was so dry and am still feeling dry.. Have not taken my pills yet as I feel so crappy.. have no energy.. Maybe the Doctor can figure it out... I am worried I caught something again as I went and ate out the other night in the casino...It seemed to hit hard the morning after...we'll see....
