Can I put a "password" on a program?
« on: 11/05/2008 21:23:37 »
I have this game that I do not want my sister playing until she pays up for her part of it, and it woudln't be that big of a deal just taking the cd out of the drive and hidding it, but everytime I want to play i'd have to go get it and after i'm done go hid it again, then haivng to keep finding a new place to hid it ha so is there away I can keep the cd in its case on the desk and she cannot play it no matter what she does?

we all use on accout, so the prilages and stuff won't work here..

thanks sims

I could tell you how to do it if the game were on your hard drive; that's a cinch.

It's possible to hide the entire CD drive, but that would mean that while it was hidden, you wouldn't be able to use it at all; and while it was un-hidden, any CD would run. I can't think of a way to protect just 1 CD.

just try cutting the game files that are on your hard drive and pasting them somewhere else hidden. then when your sister tries to play it she'll get an error message

I said it was easy if the game was on his hard drive. You've suggested one method that could be used.

Well, I mean its the sims 2. and its sort of how many different expansions all in one so its like 10 gb of storage, and you need the cd to run it, but like I do have one game that you don't need the dvd to run it since its just like 14 gb itsself
