Can anyone recommend good software for simulating thermodynamic flows?

cheers!

For what purpose? I can get one of the engineers to find out what the goods ones are for separators and the other applications we use.

For modelling heat engines: IC engines, port flows, etc.

Really needs to be something with a trial or shareware as I have no budget to speak of...

Gas/particle mixing models would be a good starting point (kind of reverse separation?).

Okay. Thanks anyway.
D'ya know, off the top of your head, what your 'guys' use for modelling separators?

no, I really don't

have you tried the freeware search for an application you need? there is also a lot of specialized software at the sites of some of the professional societies and governmental agencies. For example, there is a lot of sophisticated software for specialized geologic tasks at the site usgs.gov - the official site of the United States Geological Survey.

Thanks JimBob.

Yes, I have previously searched via Google with a few key words, but without much luck.

If I remember correctly, there were a few apps available on a trial bases, but I couldn't be sure which to go for & so thought this site might have some recommendations.

I will look again: Professional bodies sound a good place to look also.
Thanks.
